The Problem.
IoT cameras are widely used across various industrial settings for monitoring, security, and process optimization. However, one of the main challenges is accommodating the diverse mounting requirements these environments demand. Industrial sites often have many different potential camera placements, such as machinery, poles, confined spaces, or outdoor structures. Unfortunately, most IoT cameras are limited to traditional wall or ceiling mounts, making it difficult to achieve the optimal angle and coverage needed for specific use cases.

Research.
Competitive Analysis
I conducted a competitive analysis to understand what other brands have done with similar products and identify opportunities to offer added value.

Site Visits
I conducted on-site visits to various manufacturing facilities to observe how their cameras were mounted and integrated into different environments. These visits gave me firsthand insight into the practical challenges and requirements of mounting cameras in industrial settings.




Ideation.
Moodboard
I created a mood board centered around the themes of "industrial" and "futuristic." The mood board served as a visual inspiration tool, helping to shape the design language by blending rugged, functional elements with sleek aesthetics.


Sketches
Sketching out rough concepts allowed me to explore different forms, features, and functionalities without overthinking.
Internals.
With a final design concept in mind, the next critical step was to assess how the internal components, as outlined in a provided Bill of Materials, would fit into the product.
